Any time spent talking with James DeMonaco is time well spent, so, 5 years after he and I spoke about the Purge TV series and what the future holds for the franchise writ large, I naturally looked for an excuse to talk to him again. This time, I took a macro view of the Purge as a contemporary horror cinema cornerstone, and a frankly uncannily prescient piece of political art; The Purge, the movie that started it all, turned 10 earlier this month, and if that’s not a good reason to catch up with the guy responsible for creating it, I don’t know what is.
