“‘Phone Booth‘s’ Obsolescence Works To Its Thrilling Advantage”

Is it just me, or does anyone else remember Phone Booth being taken as kind of a joke back in 2003? Am I speaking anecdotally? Are my memories specific to me, or did this movie really get the write-off from the world back when it came out? 

I revisited Phone Booth with all of these thoughts in mind, plus some others, as I sought to answer an important question: How does a film function, when the location is an out of date relic of yesteryear’s communication technology? Turns out, surprisingly well.
