I am weirded out by the narrative that crystallized around awards season and Yeoh and the strange sense that without Everything Everywhere All At Once, she was some kind of struggling nobody instead of one of martial arts cinema’s living legends. I realize that there is room for nuance here. I found that room and gave it about 1k words of wisdom and incisive critique. That’s the job.
