I’m increasingly convinced that superheroes will be the death of pop culture, and that one day, not too many days away from this day we’re on right now, all will be superheroes. Superhero movies and superhero TV series’ are just the beginning. Superhero music. (Probably already a thing.) Superhero diet plans. (Same.) Superhero high fashion. Superhero tradesman. Superhero politicians. Everything’s gonna be super, which means…

…well, you can read the piece I’m linking you to here to complete that reference, but I guess what I’m saying is that even in a world (in a world) where superheroes are the culture, the new Robin Hood movie wouldn’t at all be super. (See what I did there? Eh?) I will go on record now saying, in simple language, that it is not good, but more than that, it’s not good in part because it cribs so shamelessly from the superhero lexicon.
