“ALBUM REVIEW: Amy Ray Tells an American Story, Unvarnished, on ‘If It All Goes South’”

Change that “if” to “when” and Amy Ray’s latest album would be perfect, but hey: I can’t knock optimism, and the music is damn good, so maybe let’s just say who cares.

You wouldn’t know it if you read the piece, but I am something of an “ignorant clod” when it comes to Indigo Girls and Ray’s solo work; I had to brush up, because I don’t think it behooves a critic to write about a piece of art without knowing its background. If I do say so myself, I did okay!
