It is not a secret that I am a huge fan of Furie, a film I have not written about at length*. No surprise that when Le-Van Kiet’s new movie, The Princess**, was announced, I was a) excited, and b) perplexed that he cast Joey King as his lead; Joey King and “mega violent action cinema” are two things I would not put in the same sentence.
But hey! She’s great here! I hope she makes more movies like this! Let her kick ass and slay men with swords and horned helmets, possibly teaming up with Veronica Ngo forever!
