I’m the paranoid sort, so this movie speaks to me in very uncomfortable and direct ways. I do assume that, if not my friends, then people I know in general probably hate me, or at least just tolerate my presence. I also assume that I am not unique in this regard and that the sensations Toms Stourton and Palmer point at in their co-written movie All My Friends Hate Me are broadly felt by my generation.
If that describes you, I may advise you to avoid this movie, and that’s in consideration of my high opinion of it. I like All My Friends Hate Me! It’s exceptionally well-made and hits its marks and makes its point without slipping, and it’s the rare feel-bad movie that I do not begrudge making me feel bad. But you might! You have been warned!
