I could do a straightforward top 10 “best movies of 2021” list*. I could also do something a little more fun and a little more specific. So when I broached the obvious homerun of a top ten list to my editor for Cool Material, we came around to the idea of structuring the piece more as an awards piece – best movie, best international movie, best looking movie, that sort of thing.
Most of these movies are derived from my 10 picks of the year, of course, but this is a neat way to frame things and frankly a nice departure from the norm. So head on over to Cool Material and take a gander.
