Honestly? I don’t know what the hell the point of this is, either, other than,
a) ranking things you genuinely like is fun, and
b) there are lots of slashers out there, so the possibilities are endless, and
c) I get paid to do it,
Slashers are having a moment right now, too, and I’d argue that’s in large part thanks to Freaky (which appears on this list!); nobody’s going to want on-the-nose horror movies about quarantine by now, and besides, slashers don’t take a ton of resources to make. If there’s a moment for the sub-genre to make a comeback, it’s now.
