I can’t think of a sound more irritating than a mosquito whining in your ear right before it starts sucking your blood, so I walked into Mosquito State dreading what was to come. My expectations weren’t not met, exactly, but they were defied at the same time; it’s a monumentally annoying movie, but that’s actually not a knock against it.
That being said, a couple weeks after watching and reviewing, scenes from the film are rolling around in my head, which is more than I can say for many movies that I’ve seen this year. Check out my review for Paste Magazine and you’ll get a sense of why that is.
