Amazing: The critics don’t agree! Contrary to my peers, I rather liked Things Heard & Seen and think well of the way it meshes ghosts, relationship troubles, and fish-out-of-water drama. So it goes. If it helps contextualize anything here, I was quite taken by the depth of its filmmaking, which is realized in great detail, and by the approach to death and the afterlife, which is driven by knowledge of Inness. Worked out well for me. That’s how things shake out sometimes.
