“‘Come Play’: Gillian Jacobs Stars In A ‘Babadook’ Cousin With ‘Conjuring’ Aesthetics”

Between this and Lights Out, I’m feeling like Vimeo and YouTube might be gold mines for contemporary horror features just waiting to be adapted out of shorts. Then again, eh, maybe we shouldn’t rush to these sites for Content. I watch horror shorts on YouTube habitually; just like horror features, most of them are garbage, but being a horror fan means subjecting oneself to absolute shit in pursuit of finding goodness.

Anyways, Come Play is a solid flick, full of reference points made mostly by the participation of its DP but also by the really unavoidable Babadook comparison, which is baked into the movie on a plot level. Still good though!
