Amy Seimetz’s new movie gets right to the point as soon as you finish reading the title. “She dies tomorrow, you say? I’m intrigued.” Much like I May Destroy You, the appellation grabbed me immediately and made me want to know more: Who is she? Why is she dying? Why tomorrow? Are ya sure?
She Dies Tomorrow doesn’t answer any of these questions except the first, and even then it’s determinedly vague, which is the film’s great strength. Nothing is explained, but everything is understood. The movie’s a whole damn mood. I loved it.
