“‘Driveways’ Bids Farewell to Brian Dennehy, Giant with a Gentle Heart”

No matter the grace note Brian Dennehy’s career plays for him posthumously, I suspect we’ll all look back on Driveways  as one of the best performances of his twilight years. It might end up being the best performance of his twilight years. The great thing about his work in Andrew Ahn’s film is how un-actory it is, and how he harmonizes with and facilitates the work of his co-stars, Hong Chau and young Lucas Jaye.

There aren’t many movies I’d heartily recommend checking out on VOD at this moment, but Driveways is one of them. What a balm. You can read my full review over at Paste Magazine.
