Fightin’ words? Me? Never. I suspect half of these movies are consensus picks; not that Evil Dead doesn’t have its boosters, and not that Evil Dead is bad, because it isn’t, but my sense is that Evil Dead 2 is generally considered the “superior” film. Likewise, most folks I know hold Bride of Frankenstein in higher esteem than Frankenstein, and I’ve not encountered anyone who thinks V/H/S is better than V/H/S/2. On the other hand, I’m probably nuts for putting Hellbound over Hellraiser, but hey, I’m not nuts, I’m sane in a world that’s gone nuts.
