Someday I hope to write a long, in-depth piece about Alexandra Daddario’s performance in We Summon the Darkness, and break down the first 30 minutes of the movie scene by scene to pinpoint exactly where she tips her hand and how much; I think what she does in that half hour is pretty damn remarkable, being both totally believable as the thrashing rebellious metalhead and also totally fake. It’s the little things in her affect that give away the game, or they would if not for how convincingly unconvincing she is. Or something.
Basically, she’s terrific, and the whole movie would fall apart without her.
