“Florence Pugh’s Year of Performing Perfectly”

I don’t think it’s a big secret that I’m a fan of Florence Pugh, and have been since she fed a man poisoned mushrooms back in Lady Macbeth. She’s an absolutely terrific actress, 24 years old and already accomplished in her life; the ceiling for her going forward is through the stratosphere.

Naturally, after seeing her in Little WomenFighting with My Family, and Midsommar (listed here in order from best, to second best, to Ari Aster), I felt compelled to pick up my stitching bag and find a way to sew all three films together into a unified narrative about Pugh’s 2019. I think it works? I don’t know, it got printed, so take that for what it’s worth. (It works. Obviously. I wouldn’t have submitted it otherwise, or at least I hope I have enough decency that I wouldn’t have if it didn’t.)
