“Films by Women: Five Movies to Watch from September (2019)”

How’s that for a terribly written excerpt? Pretty awful amazing, right?

If I have any complaints about September’s slate (apart from Booksmart, a movie I cannot abide), it’s that Always in Season doesn’t focus strictly on the reenactment angle. Imagine that: A whole movie about people reenacting historical atrocities together. Kinda sounds familiar, yeah? Not everyone can be Robert Greene, though, and hey, Always in Season makes a real compelling case regarding its subject matter all the same.

You can read about that, and the rest of these films, over at Paste Magazine.
