Review: One Cut of the Dead, 2019, dir. Shinichiro Ueda

It’s tempting to take this opportunity to say “screw Amazon,” but being as my house is basically a revolving door of Amazon boxes of late, let’s not and say I didn’t*.

Instead, I’ll say this: Watch One Cut of the Dead! I have next to no use for zombie movies these days, especially meta zombie movies that have their heads firmly planted in their own tuchuses, but I do have a use for charming “let’s put on a show” comedies that happen to overlap with zombie movies in a genre mash Venn diagram. That’s my convoluted way of saying that One Cut of the Dead is very much My Jam. And it should be yours, too!

*Yes, let’s not do something and then also say that we did not do that thing, indeed.
