Maybe I’m a year older, and therefore a year crankier, or maybe I’m making a concerted effort to cool my jets on high praise, or maybe I just have really keen senses and I don’t think as well of most of this year’s very praised movies as others. Maybe it also doesn’t matter, because Paste Magazine‘s list of the best films of 2019 to date isn’t mine alone, and there are, admittedly, a bunch of good movies on here that I would recommend, even if I don’t think “best” applies to them.
That’s it! That’s all I have to say. Teaser, though: I’ll post my personal top ten in the next few days, which will also include my top ten best / favorite* albums of 2019 so far. Because that’s what I do.
You can read the full list at Paste Magazine.
*Because when we say “best,” we really mean “favorite,” even if we don’t like to admit it.
