I haven’t been an Oh Sees fan for very long; mostly since last year, when I listened to Orc, revisited A Weird Exits to get over my hangups about it, and then saw them perform at Boston Calling, which ruled. So I guess hearing Thee Hounds of Foggy Notion doesn’t mean as much to me as it might to longtime Oh Sees devotees (dev-Oh-Tees, perhaps). That said, there’s a nice time capsule quality to this re-release that I don’t totally get into in my review; for me, that means a new framework for appreciating their music today, even if I haven’t been on board with them for very long.
