I don’t think I’ll ever pass up an opportunity to talk about Hale County This Morning, This Evening, do you? I probably won’t. Especially not when the opportunity ties directly to this year’s Academy Awards ceremony. Back when I first wrote about this film in January ’18, I had no idea I was writing about a future Best Documentary Feature nominee. But I was. What a trip.
I’ll keep this short. This is an absolutely phenomenal film, and if it doesn’t win the category, I’ll probably eat my hat, especially if it’s beaten by RBG. Yawn.
