I’m not sure how I’m going to feel celebrating the 4th of July this year. I could celebrate the spirit of the country as I’d like it to be; I could mourn it, or rage against it, what it actually is. But you don’t have to! You, you, you’re lucky, you can beat the heat and watch a few really darn good movies by women from June, in particular Nancy (which, you may notice, takes a spot of honor on my “best of so far” list for the year) and Set It Up (which isn’t the most subtle or artful romantic comedy I’ve ever seen, but damn if its earnestness doesn’t do the trick*.
But I do go on, don’t I? Why don’t you just shuffle on over to Paste Magazine and see the whole article for yourself.
*Also: Zoey Deutch.
