Atlanta is back on FX. I probably don’t need to say anything more than that. I shouldn’t, really. But hey, it’s back, and it’s still great, and it’s still painfully relevant, and I know that it’s probably weird for a white guy to talk about how rarely we talk about mental health in relation to black characters in pop culture – not never, but not often – but Atlanta‘s new season has me orbiting around that theme. At some point I expect one or two of its characters to seek therapy, because good lord the bullshit they put up with is overwhelming and frankly traumatic.
Anyways, feel free to read my review of its first few episodes for The ARTery.
