Review: The Commuter, 2017, dir. Jaume Collet-Serra

I never realized how incomplete my life was without a Liam Neeson actioner where he beats up a man with a guitar, that is until I saw The CommuterThe Commuter is the latest in Neeson’s mini-filmography of big, dumb action movies where he plays either regular dudes or super badass dudes (some of whom live their lives as regular dudes) and takes down random criminals who happen into his path. Unlike a majority of these movies, The Commuter is actually pretty good, which means that it’s smart enough to know it isn’t smart at all and it revels in its not-smartness. That’s the soul of my review, posted over at Paste Magazine.
