For WBUR’s The ARTery, I wrote about a too-common problem even the best TV shows face: Figuring out when to end it all, by which I mean (he said in a rush) when to wrap things up and close the series out. Certain great shows can go beyond three or four seasons of content without stretching themselves too thin. Others really need to stop at that three or four season mark. (Man, Weeds, what you could have been if you’d just bowed out after Nancy Botwin set her house on fire. Sigh.) Hell, Mr. Robot is back to being great after its baffling and frustrating second season, and I’m still not sure it needs to go on for even one season more. (But it probably will.)
