Review: Trophy, 2017, dir. Shaul Schwarz & Christina Clusiau

I’m of the mind that we’re all animal lovers, even those of us who include animals in our diet, whether in the form of products derived from, say, their milk (like cheese) or in the form of their meat. So it stands to reason that we’re all going to get something from watching Shaul Schwarz and Christina Clusiau’s documentary, Trophy, which focuses on the tension between conservation and big game hunting in Africa. “Tension” here means something other than what you probably think it does: They’re surprisingly interwoven with one another. But if you want to know more, you’ll have to scope out the review I wrote for Paste Magazine. Naturally.
