Bingeworthy Breakdown: Comrade Detective

Trust me: I really wanted to love Comrade Detective. I’m fond of most of the people involved, and if I’m naturally inclined to consider the basic conceit of dubbing comic vocal tracks over material that is not at all innately comic, I’m okay with it on the off chance that the people doing it nail the execution. Comrade Detective does that, I guess, and yet at the same time I didn’t find it funny, at least not for huge swaths of its combined running time; it tickled me here and there, but let me tell you, it didn’t tickle me enough to keep me from thinking about it, and the more I thought about it, the more it fell apart.

So bless me for writing about it over at The Playlist, right?
