Review: The Incredible Jessica James, 2017, dir. James C. Strouse

Hey, uh, Jessica Williams: On the off chance you read my review of your new movie, The Incredible Jessica James, don’t take it personally. I liked you fine! I just didn’t like anything else about the movie! Except maybe Chris O’Dowd! And Noël Wells! Okay, mostly I just didn’t like the direction, because I think James Strouse is fucking terrible at making movies – but “mostly” is just enough, isn’t it? He’s the guy in charge here. But lots of credit to you for doing your best under the heel of crummy filmmaking. I hope we can still be friends. (Everyone else: You can find the piece in question over at The Playlist.)
