Happy New Year! Here is another link to a piece at Paste Magazine about everything that was good in 2016 (which is not to say that I personally like every movie that appears on the list, because I don’t, but more that Paste’s collective writer pool has a set of very diverse tastes). I wrote about Toni Erdmann, a movie I haven’t had much opportunity to write about, and also Silence, which I already wrote about but will write about any opportunity I get, because it’s now 2017 and people still act like the guy is some befuddled half-assed filmmaker and not, you know, a genius. (I’m bitter.)
