In my first review for The Playlist (The Playlist!), I tackled a little doc called Unlocking the Cage that tells the story of Steven Wise, an animal protection lawyer who fought, and is still fighting, for the personhood of animals in the eyes of the U.S. judicial system. I liked it! It helps that it’s by Chris Hegedus & D.A. Pennebaker, the husband duo responsible for docs like The War Room and Down from the Mountain. Mostly, I’m just excited to have my byline up on The Playlist, so pardon me if I don’t have much else to blurb about here. Go give my piece the hits it deserves! Stat!
