Heard about that Deadpool movie? If you watch TV, or if you are a slave to any particular social media platform, then yes! You have! Even if you aren’t, there’s a good chance you have heard people talking about it who do watch TV, or who live a gross percentage of their lives on Twitter. Such is the strength of a well-tailored viral marketing campaign, launched via the allegedly dying social networking service thanks to both Ryan Reynolds and the film’s official account. We at Paste Magazine found ourselves so taken by Fox’s unique (and well executed) publicity push for Deadpool that yours truly wound up writing a whole thing about it, dating all the way back to March of last year when Reynolds kicked the whole thing off in earnest.
