Farewell and Adieu: A Long Overdue Message

I’ve been putting this off for a while, mostly because I’m a slacker but partly because I’ve been trying to find the best way to say this. Rather than beat around the bush by talking about how A Constant Visual Feast is my baby– which it is– I’ll just say outright that production here is going to stop for the foreseeable future.

Of course, things have slowed down around here significantly. Anyone who keeps tabs on this site has figured this one out already. It’s not that A Constant Visual Feast holds no meaning for me anymore– nothing like that. But as time has gone on and my relationship with Go, See, Talk! has strengthened and expanded, it’s become more and more difficult for me to provide content for ACVF as well. Updating one blog on a regular basis can be a challenge. Updating two, well, I don’t have time for that these days, and in the end I’ve grown much more invested in GST. A Constant Visual Feast is something I set up for fun more than three years ago. Go, See, Talk! is a bit more elevated.

So expect less content around these parts. It may even get to the point where I cease to publish link-posts to what I write over at Go, See, Talk!, and that’s where I’m going to ask a favor. If you’ve ever read any content over on A Constant Visual Feast, if you like reading my reviews and if you trust in my word before you head out to the theater to see something for yourself, then please, please don’t hesitate to take a trip over to Go, See, Talk! and take a look at and comment on not only my writing over there, but the contributions of the GST staff– Bill Graham, Grady May, Jessica Tomberlin, and of course the right honorable Marc Ciafardini. You’ll be getting content from me on a more regular basis at GST, plus the content of the site’s other great writers, so basically you’re just winning.

I will not say that A Constant Visual Feast will never be updated. If I have a movie I want to write about but somebody else has the lead, or the movie happens to be something I missed during its theatrical run, I’ll probably write about it over here if only so that I have my thoughts down in writing. But for now, it’s time for me to close the book on GST officially. It’s been a fun run, and everything I’ve written here will of course remain for your perusal, but I need to move on. Thanks for your comments and your patronage– I truly do appreciate it.

  1. Whew, I thought you’d be leaving forever! Glad that’s not the case, I’m glad and privileged to read your writing no matter where it is.

  2. Little sad… and its got to be tough giving up 2,300 followers, LOL. Eesh. But I’ll tag along, man. and try to keep up the best I can (usually not exactly the “Early Bird” to posts”, but I do try to keep up).

    Rock on Andy!

    • Yeah, you need to pick up the slack there, slacker-man!

I kid of course. Keep up as you’re able. Commenting isn’t really a high-stakes game, so while I definitely dig chatting with you over articles, I know how it can be. I’ll often just dedicate a chunk of one day to catching up and commenting on articles so that I don’t feel like I’m just doing it piecemeal day after day.

Hopefully those 2300 followers will start following G-S-T!
