Well, we’ve been through this before. Sort of.
Okay, no drawing things out here. I’m a GST staff writer now. Remember this announcement? Consider this the upgraded version. I’m going to have more of a presence over at Go, See, Talk! starting this month, and less of a presence over here.
That sounds ominous. Here’s the deal. A Constant Visual Feast is my baby. It’s not going anywhere. Will I still be posting here? Absolutely. And for almost everything I post on Go, See, Talk!, I’ll endeavor to put a linking post on ACVF. But I will be posting here with reduced frequency; I’m taking the Criterion Files over to GST, and I’ll be writing reviews for them in the fashion I’ve been doing for the last six months. I might even do reviews off my Netflix queue, and publish essays on the film subjects that inspire and compel me.
So, here’s what you can expect from ACVF: I’ll still be doing TV coverage for the shows I enjoy, like Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, and Girls, as well as reviews of the non-current movies I catch in my free time and blogathon events. And just so we’re not doubling up on reviews at GST, I’ll be posting reviews on ACVF for anything that the other great GST writers– Marc, Bill, Grady, and Jessica– take the lead on.
Now, I need to ask something of you. If you’ve ever commented on ACVF, on anything I’ve written, don’t hesitate to drop a line over on GST. Discussion, for me, is one of the best rewards we reap from writing on the Internet; anyone can be part of the conversation, and besides that, debate and discourse represents the lifeblood of movie blogs and outlets all over the web. I crave your input. So head on over to Go, See, Talk! and put your two cents in. We’ll all appreciate it immensely. Agree with a review? Let us know! Got another take? Share that too! Whether assenting or dissenting, it’s all a valuable part of the conversation.
Matthew 6:24
“No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.”
Lookit me, gettin’ all biblical on you and shit. LOL. Good luck, but dont take a nut shot trying to straddle the fence, buddy 😀
I certainly won’t, but this is actually going to make things much, much easier for me, believe it or not!
Best wishes with your new job!
Thanks Jamie! I’ve got high hopes for the future.
I don’t understand what you are saying. I just want a tall dry cappucino with no foam and 8 pumps of toffee nut
I somehow suspect this is a reference to something that I’m not getting!
Good for you. I think the future of blogging is about community – writing for a bunch of other blogs and getting involved in something bigger than the one blog you hold;. don’t get me wrong – i have my own personal blog – but i love contributing. see you on GST.
I agree completely– community is huge. It’s why I comment as much as I do on other blogs. That’s how you generate traffic for yourself and get noticed and become part of something more than just a hollow online diary into which you funnel your passions about film.
Do stop on by GST. I love getting comments here, and I love them over there even more. Hope to hear from you over there in the future Simon!
